La Liga’s management sent a letter to the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE) warning about possible consequences of player protests in the league, reports AS.
The players’ union representatives stated they are not afraid of the warnings since the players’ actions did not break the law. However, team captains perceived the letter as pressure on their organization.
Additionally, some players expressed dissatisfaction with censorship, as their protests were not shown during match broadcasts.
Recall that every match in La Liga’s ninth round started with a 15-second pause during which players protested against staging the 17th round match between Barcelona and Villarreal at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, USA.
