Lamine Yamal Breaks Champions League Record, Surpassing Mbappé

Young Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has set a new record, becoming the youngest goalscorer in a Champions League semifinal match at the age of 17 years and 291 days.

On April 30, Barcelona played against Inter in the first semifinal match (3-3), where Yamal scored in the 24th minute. This goal allowed him to surpass Kylian Mbappé's achievement, who scored for Monaco in the same tournament at 18 years and 140 days.

Moreover, Yamal is now the youngest player to score at any stage of the Champions League knockout rounds. In the ongoing 2024/25 season, Lamine Yamal has participated in 49 matches for Barcelona across all competitions, scoring 15 goals and providing 24 assists. His transfer market value is estimated at 180 million euros according to Transfermarkt.
