According to Telecomasia.net, 59-year-old French coach Laurent Blanc, who left Saudi club Al-Ittihad in September, has declined an offer from intermediaries to work at Spartak.
Our sources report that intermediaries contacted Blanc’s representatives several times regarding a possible job in Russia, specifically at Spartak, but received a refusal explaining that at the moment the Frenchman is not considering working in Russia.
Spartak’s sporting director Francis Cagigao still cannot present the club’s management with an alternative candidate for the head coach position besides Luis Garcia. Other candidates proposed by intermediaries and agents do not satisfy him, as Cagigao wants the new head coach to be his protegé and within his area of responsibility.
The search for a coach continues, but it is possible that changes at Spartak will take place during the November international break or be postponed until winter.
Besides Al-Ittihad, Blanc previously served as head coach at Bordeaux, PSG, Lyon, Al Rayyan, and the French national team.
