Lautaro Martinez Surpasses Diego Maradona in Goals for Argentina

Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez entered the top five all-time scorers for the Argentina national team, surpassing football legend Diego Maradona.

In a friendly match against Puerto Rico, the 28-year-old Argentine scored twice, bringing his total goals for the national team to 35. Maradona scored 34 goals for Argentina.

Lionel Messi remains the top scorer for the national team.

Martinez was also the Serie A top scorer in the 2023/24 season and the top scorer at the 2024 Copa America.
