Liverpool won't be signing Nico Schlotterbeck, the Borussia Dortmund defender they considered as a potential reinforcement in the winter. This is reported by Mirror, citing Bild.
According to the source, Borussia Dortmund might sell the 26-year-old defender because his contract expires in the summer of 2027, and the club does not want the player to leave for free.
It is noted, however, that Nico Schlotterbeck is not among Liverpool's main priorities.
The German national team defender has been playing for Borussia since July 2022. This season, he has registered two assists in 14 matches across all competitions. The Transfermarkt website estimates Nico Schlotterbeck's market worth at 40 million euros.
After 14 rounds of the EPL, Arne Slot's squad has accumulated 22 points and occupies ninth place in the league standings.
In the next round, Liverpool are playing Leeds United away. The match will take place on December 6 and will start at 20:30 GMT+3.
