Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has apologized to the squad for his recent controversial comments, according to Reds midfielder Curtis Jones.
Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff. He apologised to us [saying], 'if I've affected anybody or made you feel any sort of way, I apologise'. That's the man that he is. We're past that now and we're gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.
The 33-year-old Egyptian had recently been absent from the starting lineup. After being left on the bench for the match against Leeds United (3-3) on December 6, Salah spoke to the media, sharply criticizing the club and the manager regarding his reduced playing time.
As a result, the forward was left out of the squad for the Champions League away match against Inter Milan (1-0). On December 13, Salah made his first appearance since the conflict, coming on as a first-half substitute against Brighton to replace the injured Joe Gomez. In that match, the Egyptian provided an assist, helping his team to a 2-0 victory.
Mohamed Salah has been with Liverpool since July 2017. This season, he has recorded five goals and four assists in 20 matches across all competitions. His contract is valid until the summer of 2027. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €30 million. Recently, the Pharaoh became the club's record holder for the most goal contributions in the Premier League, surpassing Wayne Rooney's single-club record with 277 points.
