English club Liverpool has broken the record for total spending on new players in a single transfer window. This is confirmed by data from the statistical portal Transfermarkt.
According to the website, Liverpool spent €483 million during the summer transfer window.
With this spending, Liverpool surpassed the previous record set by Chelsea. In the summer of 2023, Chelsea spent €464 million on new signings.
Notably, this summer Liverpool made record-breaking transfers, spending €125 million on midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer and €144 million on Swedish forward Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
It was also reported that the transfer of defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace to Liverpool fell through.
