Famous German midfielder Lothar Matthäus shared his opinion on whether Bayern Munich’s backup goalkeeper Jonas Urbig can replace the club’s first-choice keeper Manuel Neuer.

Urbig has shown himself well so far at Bayern, aside from one mistake in Berlin [against Union Berlin, 1-1 last season]. He can learn from Manuel Neuer every day at training. If Jonas develops properly, he could one day become his successor.
Recall that 22-year-old Jonas Urbig has played two matches for Munich this season, conceding two goals.
The 39-year-old Manuel Neuer has been with Bayern since 2011. He has played 572 matches for the club in all competitions, conceding 466 goals and keeping 270 clean sheets.
After eight rounds of the Bundesliga, Bayern lead the table with 24 points.
In the ninth round, Vincent Kompany’s team will host Bayer Leverkusen on November 2 at 20:30 GMT+3.
