Manchester United will not consider Thomas Tuchel as a replacement for Ruben Amorim as the club’s head coach if the Portuguese leaves in the middle of the 2025-26 season, reports The Sun.
Man United rejected Tuchel’s candidacy despite negotiations with him in summer 2024 when the club was searching for a replacement for Erik ten Hag. Co-owner Jim Ratcliffe personally met with the German at that time.
Tuchel has previously worked in the Premier League, managing Chelsea. Under his leadership, the club won the Champions League, beating Manchester City 1-0 in the final.
After seven rounds of the 2025-26 Premier League season, Manchester United stand 10th in the league table with 10 points. In the eighth round, the Red Devils will face Liverpool. The match will take place on October 19 at 18:30 GMT+3.
