
Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Nico Gonzalez from Porto for a fee of 60 million euros. The 23-year-old Spanish central midfielder is now a player for the Citizens, as confirmed by the club’s press service.
24 million euros of the transfer fee will go to Barcelona, who sold Gonzalez to Porto for 8.4 million euros with a resale agreement.
The player has signed a contract that is valid until the summer of 2029.
In the current season, Nico Gonzalez played in 29 matches for Porto across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. Transfermarkt estimates the 23-year-old midfielder at 18 million euros.
As of now, Manchester City hold the fifth position in the English league with 41 points.
Earlier, Manchester City signed 18-year-old player Christian McFarlane from New York City.
Additionally, the Citizens have strengthened their squad with 20-year-old Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens.
