According to The Athletic, a move for 21-year-old defensive midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton to Manchester United will not happen this summer.
The deal collapsed because of the player’s high asking price: Brighton reportedly valued the Cameroon international at £115 million. Manchester United considered that sum to be overpriced. Despite the rejection, Baleba still hopes to join the Red Devils.
Last season the midfielder played 40 matches, scoring four goals and providing two assists. Baleba’s contract with Brighton runs until the summer of 2028. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at €40 million.
