According to a poll conducted by Marca, 86% of Real Madrid supporters believe that selling winger Vinicius Junior would be the best course of action.
Fans feel that the Brazilian’s position at the club has been irrevocably compromised. The controversy surrounding Vinicius escalated during the La Liga Matchday 17 fixture against Sevilla (2-0). After being booed by the crowd upon his late substitution, the winger changed his social media profile picture to an image of himself in a Brazil national team jersey, further heightening tensions.
In the 2025-26 season, Vinicius has made 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing seven assists. He has been with the club since 2018, winning two Champions League titles and three La Liga trophies. His contract expires in the summer of 2027, and Transfermarkt currently values the forward at €150 million.
After 17 rounds of the current La Liga campaign, los Blancos sit in second place with 36 points. Xabi Alonso’s side will face Real Betis on January 4.
