Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe set a new record for the debut season for los Blancos, scoring a goal in the game of the 37th round of the Spanish championship against Sevilla (2:0).
This goal became the 41th in the French striker's first season for Real Madrid in all competitions.
Thus, the 26-year-old forward broke his previous achievement of the number of goals scored in the first season (40). Before that, the best result belonged to Chilean Ivan Zamorano, a former Real Madrid player, who scored 37 goals in the season-1992/93.
Mbappe also scored 29 goals in La Liga, surpassing his own all-time record of 28 goals among Real Madrid rookies. Previously, the record belonged to the legendary striker of the national teams of Argentina, Colombia and Spain Alfredo Di Stefano, who in the season-1953/54 scored 27 goals in the championship.
Mbappe moved to the Madrid club in the summer of 2024 as a free agent. The player's current contract with the club runs until the summer of 2029. According to the Transfermarkt website, the market value of the player is estimated at 170 million euros.
