
On Sunday, August 24, the second-round La Liga match between Real Oviedo and Real Madrid took place. The game ended in a confident 3–0 victory for the Madrid club.
Real’s French forward Kylian Mbappé scored a brace. That brings his total to 47 goals in all competitions since the start of the 2024–25 season, the highest tally among players in the top five European leagues.
In second place is England’s Harry Kane with 45 goals for Bayern, and third is Poland’s Robert Lewandowski with 42 goals for Barcelona.
Kylian Mbappé has been playing for Real Madrid since summer 2024. Last season he appeared in 59 matches across all competitions, scoring 44 goals and providing five assists. His contract with Los Blancos runs until summer 2029, and Transfermarkt estimates him at €180 million.
Earlier, Real coach Xabi Alonso highlighted Mbappé’s high motivation at the start of the new season.
