Argentina's 35-year-old forward Lionel Messi has said the team's result is more important to him than his personal records and mentioned his team's ambition to win the 2022 World Cup.

Messi's goal in the semi-final match against Croatia (3-0) made him the most prolific Argentine at the World Cups with 11 goals. The previous record of 10 goals belonged to Gabriel Batistuta.

Lionel Messi, quoted by the online portal Ole
Records are good. But it's more important to achieve team success, that's the most beautiful goal. We only have one step left after a long hard struggle. Argentina will do everything possible to make sure we succeed this time.

The national team of Argentina will meet with the team of France in the final match of World Cup 2022 on December 18 at 18:00 GMT+3.
