Fenerbahçe’s head coach José Mourinho commented on his team’s 0-1 defeat against Beşiktaş in the 34th round of the Turkish Super Lig.
José Mourinho
Beşiktaş was the only team that wanted to win the match today. That’s why I don’t think we deserved to lose. The outcome of the league was determined before the league even started. VAR decisions, referee decisions. I am so tired of talking about these. I have no power, nothing changes, but this is the situation, this is the truth. How many times have we seen that the same penalty given today was not given to us?
The Portuguese coach took over Fenerbahçe in June 2024. His contract with the Istanbul club runs until summer 2026.
Currently, Fenerbahçe hold second place in the Turkish league with 75 points, eight points behind leaders Galatasaray, with four rounds left in the season.
Previously, Mourinho grabbed Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk by the nose after a loss in the Turkish Cup.
Additionally, the Portuguese coach complained that Turkish media underestimate his work and harshly criticize him.
