Portuguese coach José Mourinho has built a substantial fortune in part from compensation received after being dismissed by clubs.
According to Otopark, the total of severance payments Mourinho has received amounts to €115 million.
Major payouts include €21 million from Chelsea in 2007, €20 million from Real Madrid in 2013, €14.5 million again from Chelsea in 2015, €20 million from Manchester United in 2018, and €21 million from Tottenham in 2021. Most recently, Roma paid him €3.5 million in 2024.
Mourinho is one of the most decorated managers in football history, winning the UEFA Champions League twice with Porto and Inter Milan.
He has previously explained why he considers himself one of the best coaches in the world.
