Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller has matched Toni Kroos in terms of trophies won among German footballers.
On Sunday, May 4, Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title early after Bayer Leverkusen drew with Freiburg 2-2 in the 32nd round.
For 35-year-old Thomas Müller, this newest trophy marks the 34th of his career. As a result, he matched the record of his former Bayern and Germany teammate Toni Kroos, who also has 34 titles. They are now both recognized as the most decorated German players in history.
Müller has won 33 of his 34 titles with Bayern and one with the Germany national team, clinching the 2014 World Cup.
Last summer, Toni Kroos announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 34, with Real Madrid being his last club.
Earlier, Thomas Müller announced his departure from Bayern Munich after the current season.
In related news, the forward from Munich has matched Cristiano Ronaldo's record for the number of seasons with goals in the UEFA Champions League.
