
Napoli officially reported the nature of midfielder Kevin De Bruyne’s injury. The 34-year-old player suffered the injury during the eighth-round Serie A match against Inter (3-1).
In the 33rd minute, De Bruyne successfully converted a penalty but immediately grabbed the back of his thigh and later left the field in tears with assistance from medical staff.
The club’s statement said that examinations revealed a severe tear of the right thigh’s biceps femoris muscle. De Bruyne has already started rehabilitation, but the recovery timeline has not been specified. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he will miss games until the end of the year.
De Bruyne has been playing for Napoli since the summer of 2025. So far, he has appeared in 11 matches, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
It was previously reported that De Bruyne ranks second on Belgium’s all-time top scorers list.
