Santos forward Neymar was involved in an incident with a fan following a Brazilian championship match against Internacional, which ended in a 2-1 defeat. According to Marca, after the final whistle, Neymar got into a heated exchange with a fan, and his teammate João Paulo had to intervene.
Later, the 33-year-old forward took to social media to explain that he lost his temper due to insults aimed at his family. He emphasized that he is ready to leave the club if fans believe he is not helping the team.
After the loss, Santos dropped to 17th place in the Brazilian championship standings, with 14 points from 15 matches and finding themselves in the relegation zone. This season, Neymar has played 16 matches for the club, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
It’s worth noting that in June, Neymar signed a new contract with Santos until the end of 2025, with an option for extension. At that time, he stated that he extended his deal “following his heart” and described the club as his home, where he feels “truly happy.”
