Peruvian Police Beat Venezuela Players Tor Trying to Approach Stands

Peruvian police beat Venezuelan national team players with batons for trying to approach the guest stands after the match of the qualifying stage of the World Cup - 2026.

The meeting in the Peruvian capital Lima ended with a score of 1:1. Midfielder Jefferson Savarino scored a goal for the visitors.

Police officers gave the players a harsh warning not to go to the stands to give their jerseys to the fans, and then started pushing them away. One of the Venezuelan players responded to a police officer, and then the law enforcers took up their batons.

After six rounds of qualifying, the Venezuelan national team is in fourth place in the standings with nine points.
