World Cup champion and UEFA Nations League winner with France, midfielder Paul Pogba, currently a free agent, is on the verge of signing with Monaco, according to insider Fabrizio Romano on social media.
Sources report that final details of the transfer are being agreed upon, with a two-year contract prepared for the player.
The last club the 32-year-old Frenchman played for was Italian Juventus, before terminating his contract in October last year.
On March 10, Paul Pogba officially went through an 18-month doping suspension and is now eligible to participate in official matches.
It’s worth noting that the Frenchman was initially banned for four years in February 2024 due to doping found in August 2023. In October, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his sentence to 18 months.
Pogba's last official match took place on September 3, 2023, where he represented Juventus against Empoli, ending in a 2-0 victory.
The Club World Cup is currently underway. You can find the tournament's overview here.
