Former Poland goalkeeper Jan Tomaszewski has advised his fellow countryman Robert Lewandowski to leave Barcelona and continue his career in a less competitive league.
Jan Tomaszewski, quoted by Goal
Robert should finish his time at Barcelona right now and go to a ‘lighter’ club in Saudi Arabia, as the best players in the world have done, except [Lionel] Messi. Let’s face it, this is the end. Robert is not very popular in the team, and the best players in Barcelona don’t pass the ball to him.
Lewandowski has been with Barcelona since July 2022. In the last season, he played 52 matches for the Blaugrana, scoring 42 goals and providing three assists.
The 36-year-old Polish forward's contract with the Catalan club runs until the end of June 2026. Transfermarkt estimates the player's market value at 12 million euros.
Last season, Lewandowski helped Barcelona win the league, the cup, and the Supercup in Spain.
Earlier, Barcelona legend Lionel Messi spoke about a conflict with Lewandowski regarding the 2021 Ballon d'Or.
