Paris Saint-Germain’s head coach Luis Enrique addressed his team’s defeat against Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup 2025.
Luis Enrique
Chelsea started the match brightly with very high pressure. They put us in difficulty. We had chances to score, but we didn’t. Overall, they deserved their victory. We are disappointed, it's not easy, but that's sport at the highest level, that's life: you have to accept it. I think Chelsea played very well and deserved to win. We accept that.
This marked PSG's first loss in a final this season; earlier, the French team won three domestic trophies and achieved its first UEFA Champions League title in history by defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final.
It’s also notable that immediately after the final whistle, cameras captured a scuffle involving Luis Enrique and Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, although the initial moment of the incident did not air.
It has also been reported that this was the first time in Luis Enrique’s career that he lost a final in an international club tournament.
