Paris Saint-Germain have informed Gianluigi Donnarumma about the impending transfer of Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier. According to sources, the deal is close to completion, and an official announcement may come in the next few days, as reported by insider Fabrizio Romano.
Donnarumma's contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2026, but negotiations for an extension have reached an impasse. In light of this, the club has presented the goalkeeper with two options: he can leave Paris during the current transfer window or stay and face competition and uncertainty. This was reported by RMC Sport.
PSG's head coach Luis Enrique views the 22-year-old Chevalier as a potential first-choice goalkeeper for the 2025/26 season. However, the club does not intend to sidelined Donnarumma, given his experience, stability during the previous season, and influence in the locker room.
Last season, Lucas Chevalier played 58 matches for Lille, keeping clean sheets in 13 of those games.
