Saad Safar Al Kuwari exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
We welcome Russian fans to tomorrow’s match. We are also glad our own fans will come and support the team. I can’t give an exact attendance number for the stadium tomorrow. We already played Bahrain, and the game with Russia will be our second step in preparing for World Cup qualifying.
The BetBoom friendly between Qatar and Russia will be played Sunday, September 7, at Al Sadd Stadium in Al-Rayyan. The match starts at 18:15 GMT+3.
Russia and Qatar have met in four friendlies. Their first meeting was in 1996, a 5-2 win for Russia. In 2011 they drew 1-1; in November 2016 Qatar won 2-1; and their last meeting in September 2023 ended 1-1.
