Real Madrid management and coaching staff are in discussions about which young forward will take on the role of backup striker for Kylian Mbappe in the upcoming season, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The two candidates are 18-year-old Endrick and 21-year-old homegrown player Gonzalo Garcia. Both players are eager to remain in the first team and get playing time. Those close to Endrick have already stated that he is not considering a loan option. Meanwhile, Garcia, despite interest from England, also wants to stay with the club.
Gonzalo Garcia has impressed the coaching team with his performance at the Club World Cup and throughout last season. He appeared in ten matches for the first team, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
Endrick, who turned 18 in July, played 37 matches for his previous club during the 2024/25 season, scoring seven goals and making one assist.
