
According to The Athletic, Carlo Ancelotti, the head coach of Real Madrid, is likely to leave his position soon.
Sources indicate that the Italian coach and the club's management have verbally agreed to part ways, with an official announcement about Ancelotti's departure potentially coming after the upcoming El Clásico.
Real Madrid will face Barcelona on Sunday, May 11, for their 35th La Liga match.
Ancelotti has led Real Madrid since 2021, having previously managed the team from 2013 to 2015. During his two terms, he secured three UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga championships, one Copa del Rey, and two UEFA Super Cups.
In mid-April, Real Madrid ended their UEFA Champions League campaign, losing in the quarter-finals to Arsenal with an aggregate score of 1:5.
Additionally, Real Madrid lost to Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey with a score of 2:3.
In the current La Liga standings, the team is in second place with 75 points, trailing the leaders, Barcelona, by four points.
Ancelotti previously stated that he would not comment on his future with Real Madrid until May 25. He also shared his thoughts on the upcoming match against Barcelona in the 35th round of La Liga.
