Real Madrid have contacted representatives of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland to assess the possibility of his transfer to the Spanish capital, reports Caught Offside.
Los Blancos may have a large sum of money in the summer of 2026, due to a possible sale of winger Vinicius Junior to an unnamed Saudi club for €250 million. The club could reinvest these funds into acquiring Haaland, the source said.
Manchester City do not want to sell the Norwegian, but Real Madrid have not abandoned the idea of signing him, the source emphasizes.
Haaland has played for Manchester City since 2022. In the 2025-26 season, Erling has appeared in nine matches for the Citizens across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing one assist. His contract runs until June 30, 2034. Transfermarkt estimates him at €180 million.
After eight rounds of La Liga 2025-26, Real Madrid lead the table with 21 points. On October 19 at 22:00 GMT+3, Los Blancos will face Getafe in their ninth match.
