
Barcelona are looking to actively strengthen the center-back position during the current winter transfer window, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Catalan club does not intend to pursue a high-profile permanent signing for the role and may instead opt for a loan deal. The Blaugrana are currently facing a shortage in defense, with both Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo sidelined due to injuries.
After 18 rounds of the 2025-26 La Liga season, Barcelona lead the table with 46 points. On Matchday 19, they will face Espanyol on January 3.
