Napoli and Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku announced on social media the death of his father, Roger.
Lukaku wrote alongside a photo with his father:
I'm forever grateful and appreciate you. Life will never be the same. Protecting and guiding me like no else could. I won't be the same.
In the 2024-25 season, Lukaku has played 38 matches across all competitions for Napoli, scoring 14 goals and providing 11 assists. He is currently undergoing treatment for a hip injury.
