Joao Mendes, son of legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldinho, will start playing for Barcelona's youth team, the club's social media press service informs.
Details of the contract with the 18-year-old striker were not disclosed. His father ended his professional career in January 2018. Previously, Mendes terminated his agreement with Cruzeiro.
The media wrote that he concealed his identity when signing an employment contract with the Brazilian club in order not to gain an advantage over the competition.
Ronaldinho, 42, is the 2005 Ballon d'Or winner, the 2005/06 Champions League winner and the 2002 World Cup champion. Since 2016, the Brazilian has been an official ambassador for Barça.
