According to TEAMtalk, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia has recently re-established contact with Argentine forward Lionel Messi, who currently plays for Inter Miami.
The fund aims to make Messi one of the main stars of the Saudi league, alongside Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Al-Nassr.
Negotiations between Messi and representatives from Saudi Arabia are currently at an early stage, with both sides exploring possible cooperation options.
Messi has been with Inter Miami since July 2023, appearing in 59 matches, scoring 49 goals, and providing 24 assists. His contract with the team is set to expire in the winter of 2025. The legendary Argentine's transfer value is estimated at 20 million euros by Transfermarkt.
Recently, IFFHS recognized Messi as the greatest football player in the history of the sport.
