Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) has extended an offer to Lionel Messi, the forward of Inter Miami, to join the local league.
According to Teamtalk, the 38-year-old Argentine was presented with terms that enabled the transfer of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo. The Saudis have sent the proposal to Messi's father, Jorge Messi, who serves as his agent.
The leading contender for Messi's signing is Al-Hilal, a club that is part of the PIF.
Messi has been playing for Inter Miami since the summer of 2023, with a contract that runs until the end of 2025. Since joining the American team, he has appeared in 62 matches across all competitions, scoring 50 goals and providing 24 assists.
Inter Miami are currently participating in the Club World Cup, which is being held in the U.S. In the round of 16, the MLS club will face PSG on Sunday, June 29. You can find the Club World Cup overview here.
Earlier, Messi was named the highest-paid player in MLS for 2025.
