Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Wants to Buy Barcelona for €10 Billion

Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman intends to submit a bid to purchase FC Barcelona for €10 billion, according to journalist Francois Gallardo of El Chiringuito on social media.

The obstacle to the Prince's acquisition could be the "socios" – official club members in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America who have voting rights in club management and receive privileges (tickets, season passes). The source reports that the club is under their collective ownership.

The Goal website emphasizes that the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund could potentially invest in a separate commercial division of Barcelona. The club currently has debts totaling €2.5 billion.

After 17 matches in the 2025-26 La Liga season, Barcelona sit in first place in the table with 43 points. In their next match, Hans Dieter-Flick's men will meet Villarreal. The match will take place on December 21st at 18:15 GMT+3.
