Six Manchester City Players May Leave Due to Guardiola’s Decision

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is continuing to streamline his squad. As a result, six players may leave the club this summer, reports The Athletic.

The players rumored to be leaving include defenders John Stones and Nico O'Reilly, midfielders Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan, Claudio Echeverri, and forward Oscar Bobb, who may move either on loan or permanently.

It's noted that Oscar Bobb, who impressed the coaching staff during recent preseason camps but missed last season due to injury, is likely to remain with Manchester City this summer.

In the previous Premier League season, the Citizens finished third in the standings with 71 points. In the UEFA Champions League, Guardiola's team was eliminated in the Round of 16 by Real Madrid on aggregate (2-3, 1-3).

The 2025/2026 season for Manchester City will kick off on August 16 with a match against Wolverhampton, starting at 16:30 GMT+3.

It was also recently announced that former Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has joined Guardiola's coaching staff.
