According to Telecomasia.net, Spartak Moscow are considering a payment of 15-17 million euros for the transfer of Palmeiras striker José Manuel López. The Moscow club had previously shown interest in the player during the winter transfer window.
The potential transfer of López, who stands 190 centimeters tall, is driven by Spartak's head coach Dejan Stanković's desire to adopt a 3-5-2 formation, which requires a physically strong forward. The striker is open to the possibility of moving to Russia, but other European clubs are also expressing their interest.
Reports indicate that López's salary at Spartak could range from 2.5 to 3 million euros, plus bonuses. If the transfer goes through, the Argentine would become one of the highest-paid players at the club.
Earlier, Championat reported that López is a candidate to replace Spartak forward Manfred Ugalde, who is likely to move to Feyenoord soon. If the Costa Rican remains with Spartak, the likelihood of López transferring to the Moscow club this summer is minimal.
López has played 147 matches for Palmeiras, scoring 43 goals and providing 12 assists. The transfer market platform Transfermarkt estimates the 24-year-old forward at 10 million euros.
