According to Telecomasia.net, intermediaries proposed that Spartak Moscow take Brazilian defender Emerson Royal on a free loan from AC Milan.
Under the terms of the suggested agreement, the Moscow club would have had an optional buyout clause for the player at around 10 million euros, a figure that could have been negotiated down. The player’s salary in Russia was estimated to be around 2-2.5 million euros per year. However, Spartak's sporting director, Francisco Cagigao, opted against the Brazilian in favor of other players.
Insider Fabrizio Romano reports that Royal will spend the next season at Flamengo. The transfer fee is set at 9 million euros. The Brazilian club emerged victorious in the competition for the player against Beşiktaş, and the defender has already agreed to the move.
Last season, Royal played 26 matches for AC Milan across all competitions but did not register any goal contributions. Previously, he played for Tottenham and Barcelona, and he has also appeared in 10 matches for the Brazilian national team. Transfermarkt estimates Royal at 9 million euros.
