Some players at Manchester United have expressed doubts about the tactical approach and the leadership abilities of head coach Ruben Amorim, and there are internal rumours he could leave if the team’s results do not improve, The Guardian reports.
According to the report, the club’s management currently does not intend to sack Amorim.
Many United players view the Portuguese coach’s approach as “well-meaning”, but they also say that his approach can sometimes be counterproductive.
On Wednesday, August 27, the Red Devils were knocked out of the English League Cup by fourth-tier Grimsby Town (2–2 after regular time, 11–12 on penalties).
Rúben Amorim took charge of Manchester United in November 2024.
Earlier, ESPN reported that the Portuguese coach had wanted to leave the club two months after his appointment.
