
Argentinian midfielder Thiago Almada has signed with Atletico Madrid after transferring from Brazilian club Botafogo. The player’s contract with the Spanish team runs until the summer of 2030.
It's worth noting that Zenit were also interested in Almada. According to Record, the St. Petersburg club was prepared to pay 35 million euros for the player.
Almada, 24, spent the last six months on loan at Lyon, where he made 20 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists. Transfermarkt estimates him at 25 million euros.
Last season, Atletico finished in third place in La Liga.
