Tire Blowout May Have Caused Car Accident Resulting in Diogo Jota’s Death

It has been reported that a tire blowout may have caused the tragic car accident that resulted in the deaths of Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva.

News of the players' deaths broke on Thursday, July 3. The tragedy took place on a highway in the province of Zamora.

According to the publication Marca, Jota's car suffered a blown tire, which led to the vehicle veering off the road and catching fire.

While playing for Liverpool, Jota became an English champion and won the domestic cup. He also won the UEFA Nations League twice with the Portugal national team.

Previously, the Portuguese Football Federation expressed its condolences regarding the loss of the players. Liverpool also updated the homepage of its website in response to the tragic news.
