The American streaming service Netflix plans to participate in the bidding for global rights to broadcast one Champions League match per round, as part of UEFA’s upcoming update to broadcasting rules, The Times reports.
Currently, Netflix specialists are preparing to apply for Champions League broadcast rights. UEFA expects to generate about €5 billion from selling broadcasting rights for club tournaments, the source says. It is also specified that broadcasters and streaming services will be able to compete on multiple markets simultaneously, creating a competitive environment for premium matches.
The current Champions League winners are Paris Saint-Germain. In the 2024-25 season final, PSG defeated Inter with a score of 5-0, winning the trophy for the first time.
After two group stage rounds in the 2025-26 Champions League season, Bayern Munich lead the table with six points. Real Madrid are second, and PSG third, both with the same number of points. The third round will start on October 21 and end on October 22.
