Real Madrid are struggling to agree on a contract extension with forward Vinicius Junior due to the Brazilian's high salary demands, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
The 25-year-old Brazilian reportedly wants to earn more than his attacking partner Kylian Mbappe amid interest from Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs.
According to Capology data, Mbappe earns €31.3 million per year before taxes at Real Madrid, while Vinicius currently makes €20.8 million. Earlier reports stated that the Brazilian is demanding approximately €30 million annually along with a signing bonus for extending his contract.
Journalist Jorge Picon reported that Real Madrid have decided to postpone negotiations for a new contract with Vinicius until a later time.
Vinicius has been with Real Madrid since 2018, having transferred from Flamengo for €45 million. In the previous season, he played 58 matches for the Spanish club, scoring 22 goals and providing 19 assists. The Brazilian's contract with Real extends until the summer of 2027, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €150 million.
