Morgan Rogers scored twice for the hosts, while Matheus Cunha netted the only goal for the visitors.
Ruben Amorim for Manchester Utd's media
I think we were the better team today. We were unlucky, even with the injury of Bruno, but during the game, even without him, we were the better team. We blocked the transitions quite well, and they did really well. We did a very good job that no one is going to remember tomorrow because what matters is the result.
Following the match, Aston Villa sit third in the Premier League table with 36 points, while Manchester United occupy seventh place with 26 points.
Reports have recently surfaced that Villa manager Unai Emery is being considered as a potential replacement for Ruben Amorim at the helm of the Red Devils.
