West Ham Face Potential Loss of Home Stadium in 2029

West Ham United could lose the opportunity to host matches at London Stadium in 2029 due to the upcoming World Athletics Championships, as reported by Goal.

According to the source, the UK government officially confirmed last week its commitment to fund a bid to host the World Athletics Championships, dedicating £35 million (approximately $47 million) for this purpose.

London Stadium, originally built as the main venue for the 2012 Olympics, still has the necessary infrastructure to host athletic events. However, temporary adjustments to the seating will be required.

West Ham have been playing their home matches at London Stadium since 2016, after previously playing at Upton Park (also known as Boleyn Ground) for over 100 years, from 1904 to 2016.

After the end of last season, West Ham finished in 14th place in the Premier League.

Earlier, it was reported that Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus transferred from West Ham to Tottenham.
