Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz shared his impressions of playing in the English Premier League. The German joined Liverpool this summer from Bayer Leverkusen for €125 million, a record fee in Premier League history.

I can’t say they’re completely different styles of football. But here it’s definitely more intense physically and you have to run more. Opponents are always close to you, you simply don’t have space. It wasn’t easy in the Bundesliga either, but the attention on you wasn’t as tight.
In the 2025–26 season Wirtz has played two matches for Liverpool and registered one assist.
