Xabi Alonso to Take Over as Real Madrid Manager For Three Years Following Ancelotti’s Departure

Real Madrid has reached an agreement with Xabi Alonso to become the team's new head coach. The Spaniard is currently managing Bayer Leverkusen, and according to Marca, the contract is set for three years.

Also moving to Real will be his assistant Sebas Parrilla, who has worked with Alonso since 2018. It is expected that the current Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti will leave the club on May 25 after the season ends.

Reports have mentioned that Bayer Leverkusen are already preparing for Alonso’s potential departure and are considering candidates to replace him.

In the current La Liga season, Real Madrid are in second place in the league standings after 34 matchdays, with 75 points. They are four points behind leaders Barcelona with four matches remaining in the season.
