Yamal Becomes First Player With More Than Seven Successful Dribbles in a World Cup Qualifier Match

Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal became the first player to complete over seven successful dribbles in a single UEFA 2026 World Cup qualifying match.

This took place in Spain’s 6-0 victory over Turkey.

According to statistical portal Sofascore Football, Yamal attempted 10 dribbles in that match and succeeded on eight. Although the Barcelona player did not score, he registered two assists.

Overall, Lamine Yamal has played 23 matches for Spain, scoring six goals and providing 12 assists.

Spain currently lead Group E with six points after two matches, while Turkey sit third with three points from the same number of games.
