On November 2, in the 11th round of the 2025-2026 La Liga season, FC Barcelona defeated Elche 3-1 at home.
Spanish winger and Euro 2024 champion Lamine Yamal opened the scoring for the Blaugrana in the ninth minute. According to Opta, this goal marked Yamal’s 17th in La Liga, placing the 18-year-old Catalan forward second on the all-time list of top scorers in Europe’s major leagues among players under the age of 19.
The record for most goals (23) belongs to Real Madrid and French national team striker Kylian Mbappe (scored during his time with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1).
Yamal will turn 19 on July 13, 2026, meaning the teenager still has a chance to overtake Mbappe.
In the 2025-2026 season so far, Yamal has played seven La Liga matches, scoring three goals and providing five assists, as well as appearing in two UEFA Champions League games (scoring one goal). His contract with Barcelona runs through June 2031. Transfermarkt currently estimates Yamal’s market worth at €200 million.
