According to information published by Spanish media outlet El Nacional, the atmosphere in Barcelona's locker room has become tense due to the situation surrounding 17-year-old forward Lamine Yamal.
This summer, when the young talent turns 18, he will be able to sign a professional contract with the club, which has already been agreed upon and legally endorsed. Currently, Yamal is playing under a preliminary youth agreement and receives an annual salary of 3 million euros. Upon reaching adulthood, his salary is expected to be reviewed based on his performance.
It is anticipated that this will make Yamal one of the highest-paid players in Barcelona, with an estimated salary ranging from 35 million to 40 million euros, surpassing the current salary leader, Robert Lewandowski.
This situation has already caused discontent among some Barcelona players, particularly among the veteran footballers. They express concerns that this new arrangement and balance of salaries could be disrupted and question the justification for such a privileged position for such a young player.
